Rowing Science Seminar – Seattle |
On November 6, 2010 the Kossev Consortium hosted a hands-on seminar in partnership with POTENTRx, the innovative sport-science and training facility run by Dr. Dan Tripps. The seminar had two parts, both of them focused on the direct application of sports science to the coaching of rowing. In the morning, coaches sat side by side with exercise scientists and biomechanists to discuss how to utilize data from various performance feedback systems (VO2, lactate, Dartfish) to shape training and coaching for athletes. In the afternoon, Dr. Tripps led coaches through a seminar on mental training, allowing them to bring questions and concerns about their own teams and athletes to the table.
